Come Explore the World of Entrelac!
March 24 – 26, 2017. And yes, Gwen Bortner is returning!
The Basics: We’ll start on Friday the 24th at about 3PM and go till Sunday the 26th at Noon. One price covers everything, including the dinner on Saturday night!
This year, Gwen will be delving into the wonderful world of Entrelac! As you may know, Gwen is the author of the book “Entre to Entrelac”, a book she was driven to write as it’s a technique that can lend itself to a wide variety of projects. Known to many as “The Queen of Entrelac” she’s the one to turn to for information and inspiration when it comes to applying this often misunderstood technique.
Entrelac is often thought to be “too challenging” or “beyond my skills”, but this couldn’t be any further from the truth. If you are comfortable with knit, purl and understand the RS versus the WS of the fabric you have the requisite skills. But the beauty of entrelac and this project in particular is even if you are highly skilled, there are new tricks to learn and ways to apply your skills.
In this class, we’ll focus on a hat project but in the course of the weekend we’ll learn a variety of techniques that not only can be used in a variety of projects, but will also help you take greater advantage of this unique style. Be prepared for another fun and fiber filled weekend in Cambria as we explore the possibilities of Entrelac!
As part of the class you’ll also receive 3 skeins of yarn to use in the class!
As always, prepare yourself for another fabulous Saturday night dining experience.
We’re looking forward to seeing you in March!
