The event will be held at the Cambria Pines Lodge in Cambria California from 3pm Friday, March 24 through noon Sunday, March 26, 2016. The fee includes instruction from Gwen Bortner, lodging for both nights (If you’re staying at the Lodge), dinner Friday, breakfast, lunch, and a Special Dinner Saturday as well as breakfast Sunday. The fee for a non-knitter includes Lodging (shared room) dinner Friday, breakfast, lunch and the Special Dinner Saturday as well as breakfast Sunday morning.
The meals, except for the Saturday night event, are all together buffet style in our large classroom at the lodge. Saturday night will be a delightful dinner at one of Cambria’s finest restaurants. Wine and dessert are included! I you would like to invite someone to the Saturday night dinner, we will be able to add them later. Details and pricing will come later.
Schedule (May change as we get closer)
- Friday 3 PM: Meet at The Cambria Pines Lodge to get our keys and start the class. (Check-in is at 3).
- Friday Dinner: It’s always great to see old friends and make new ones!
- Saturday: After breakfast, Begin working. Lunch.
- Saturday Evening: A fabulous dinner event!
- Sunday AM: More class time after breakfast, we check out of the hotel by 11.

Prerequisites: You’ll need to be able to knit, purl, cast-on and bind-off without assistance. You should also be able to read simple knitting patterns. Must be willing to learn something new that might change your perception of the world around you!
We’re staying at the Cambria Pines Lodge, a beautiful resort hotel a short distance from the shop. This year the good people at the Lodge (as we Cambrians refer to it as) have given us room choices. We have a small pool of rooms to choose from. Standard rooms have either 2 Queen beds or 1 King Bed in them. They’re very nice.
If they become available, there may also be a very limited number of Superior rooms that come with 2 Queen beds. These rooms are recently remodeled and are more modern. They also come with a small kitchenette, a patio, and a fireplace. If they become available, we will contact folks that have signed up to see if they’d like to upgrade to a superior room.
If you’d like to reserve a spot today, you can register and even give us a NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT to hold your spot!

The following are the policies and procedures for this event. Please read them carefully, and please contact us if you have any questions or concerns about them. We’re doing our best to be fair to everyone!
Registrations will be accepted on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis based on payment date and time. If the class fills before we get to your registration, we will contact you to discuss options.
The first step is to register on line using the form below or by calling us or stopping by the store any day from 10 – 5. Then either call at 805-927-3280 for payment information, or you can send us a check, or you can click here to pay on-line at our e-commerce store. You can also go to our on-line store and look for “Events”.
Registrations are confirmed upon payment in full or a $200 deposit. Spots in the class are first come – first served based on payment date and time. To qualify for early bird pricing, payment of any balance in full must be received by Thursday January 29, 2016.
In the (fairly unlikely) event the class does not run, we will refund the entirety of your payments. If you cancel your plans prior to January 29, 2015, you will receive a full refund minus the deposit, unless we can fill your spot, in which case we will gladly refund your deposit. If you cancel your registration after January 29, 2016, and we are unable to fill your place, we regret to say we will be unable to refund your payments.
