Join us on Sunday September 22 for an Advanced Beginner class with Deborah Jarchow!

This class is perfect for those that have taken our two day immersion class, or for those that have been weaving for awhile and want to learn some new skills!

Class Level: Advanced Beginner

Clasped Warp

Description: You may have tried clasped weft as a design, but clasped warp can add extra interest to your woven pieces! Learn to make a stunning scarf using both clasped warp and clasped weft methods on a rigid heddle loom. See how using two different warp yarns can create beautiful color play in the fabric. These are techniques that are relatively easy to master but look like very complex pieces. If you’ve taken beginning rigid heddle weaving, enhance your skills. This type of weaving is portable, easy and fun!

Homework:None

We’ll supply the yarn you need for the class!

Supplies to bring:  If you prefer to bring your own yarn, bring150 – 200 yards each of 2 contrastingcolors of a smooth, solid color dk or sport weight yarn for the warp. The warp yarns should be smooth, non-hairy, strong enough not to break and at least 2 ply (no singles). You will also need 150 yards of fingering weight yarn in one color and 100 yards fingering weight yarn in a contrasting color, 10 – 15 yards waste yarn (acrylic worsted weight works well), scissors, tapestry needle, 2 brown paper grocery bags, tube from inside a paper towel roll. If bringing your own loom, Working RH loom with at least 8” weaving width, 7.5 or 8 dent reed, sley/thread hook, warping peg and clamps. All yarn must be wound into balls before class.
