Who doesn’t like expanding their knitting abilities? Join us on Saturday June 15, from 9AM to Noon! In this class, we’ll use Stephen West’s Metalouse Shawl pattern to introduce using color and texture in your knitting.
We find Stephen’s patterns to have an architectural element to them. This pattern incorporates a corrugated ridge stitch pattern using one self striping yarn and one solid color used to create columns. The columns are created using a slip stitch pattern that is easy to master. In the class, we’ll start by selecting colors for your shawl where we’ll discuss how colors can work together to create the effect you may be looking for. After that, we will move on to practice working with the two colors and the slip stitch pattern. Once you have the techniques you need to make the shawl, you’re off and knitting!
By taking the class, you’ll receive:
- Metalouse Pattern by Stephen West
- 1 skein Noro Silk Garden Sock (color of your choice)
- 2 skeins GGH Volante yarn distributed by Trendsetter Yarn Group (also the color of your choice)
- A 20% Discount on all purchases that day.
What you’ll need to bring:
- 1 US 7/4.5mm 40” circular needle
- Stitch markers
- 1 darning needle
- You should be able to cast-on, knit, purl, and bind off without assistance.
