Woven Dish Towel

Class Level - Beginner / Advanced Beginner

Description: Enjoy your own handwoven dishtowels while working in your kitchen.  Learn how to weave these thirsty towels in colors that suit your decor.  At the same time, learn the beautiful Leno pattern to add interest to the design,  During class you will warp the loom and weave two small towels and learn how to put the finishing touches on them at home.  Don’t miss this chance to enhance your kitchen with these 2 new, beautiful hand crafted towels!

Supplies to bring:   Scissors, tapestry needle, 2 cardboard tubes from inside a paper towel roll, scotch tape, 4 brown paper grocery bags, sewing needle and thread to match your yarn.  Rigid Heddle loom with 15” weaving width, 10 dent reed, pick up stick about the width of your loom, and basic weaving tools - sley/threading hook, clamps, warping peg, shuttle.  You may want to have 5 shuttles handy if you have them.  Optional - 1 spool Superior Threads Charlotte’s Fusible Web thread. 

Note - if you have a 10" loom instead of a 15", Deborah will adjust the pattern to make smaller 'finger towels'.

Yarn included with class -  2 balls Lana Grossa Linea Pura “Aruba”, 1 ball GGH “Reva, 1 ball GGH “Calypso.
