Made from 100% un-dyed Jacob fleece, this 'wooly' yarn is spun in a mill in Yorkshire. Jacob is an old, traditional British sheep breed. It has two charectaristics that are unusual in sheep. It's piebald, meaning it was dark colored areas scattered through the white wool. In addition, it's also polycerate, or multi horned! Jacobs most commonly have 4 horns.
These domestic sheep have graced estates and country homes for centuries. Pick up a couple of skeins of this DK weight yarn and you can sense the history of knitting in the British Isles.
